Kyōto, day 6

<<day 5

For the sixth day of our week-long trip we took the train to Osaka to see Osaka Castle and Tsutenkaku Tower.

Osaka Castle is actually Osaka Castle Museum.  The inside is full displays, including old armor & battlements, castle diaramas, and videos.  There was even a section for little kids where you can don a samurai ensemble and pose for a photo.  I was going to do it, but it was too expensive. (And, as is usually the case with children, a huge, annoying crowd developed.)

Going to and fro the castle was another pain in the ass due to hordes of girls and women waiting for and exiting a boy band concert at a nearby hall.

Luckily, we were treated to a taiko drum performance right before leaving by some totally kick ass Japanese girls (and one guy).  The show was awesome, apart from the dude in front of me who couldn’t stop moving his head.  For a bonus video (Steely Dan?!), see Mike’s page.
